Anna Gunn

Anna Gunn has been an actress for over 20 years. Her most famous role is Skyler White on Breaking Bad, an AMC drama Breaking Bad, for which she won the Primetime Emmy Award in 2013 as well as 2014 for Outstanding Supporting actress in an Drama Series. She performed the roles of Jean Ward and Martha Bullock as well in The Practice. Anna Gunn was born in Sante Fe New Mexico, in 1968. The actress fell in love with performing in Preparatory School before moving to Ohio with her family in the late 1970s. She was a student at Northwestern University to study theatre as well as the British American Drama Academy. Anna worked as a theatre actor in the Chicago area for a few years prior to trying her hand at television as well as film roles. Anna received her breakthrough in the year 1992, when she portrayed Arden in 29 episodes of Down the Shore. Following her appearance as a Guest Actor in a variety of TV Shows and movies, including Seinfeld and NYPD Blue in the 1990's and was later given the role of Jean Ward as part of The Practice. Martha Bullock was her role in Deadwood in two full seasons. In 2008, she was cast in the role of Skyler in Breaking Bad. Sully was another of her characters. Gunn played in David Schwimmer's Sex With Strangers, a production directed by David Schwimmer. Gunn also played a part in the show Numbered Day, which is a podcast consisting of four audio-based plays. Breaking Bad is often centered around the relationship that Walter White with his wife Skyler. Their strained bond and eventual end resembles the end of Walter White's story.
